Welcome. I'm,
Anthony Siradakis Ph.D., a Senior UX Researcher & Product Strategist.
I leverage experiential, situational, behavioral, and motivational psychology in my practice - pushing past traditional UX/UI approaches by digging deeper into how users identify, associate, engage, and form personal and interpersonal connections with products, services, and the organizations that create them.

Getting from there to here.

At 8 years old, like many elementary school children, I tried desperately to correctly guess how many Skittles were housed in a transparent glass bowl. With each passing, unsuccessful attempt I devised new strategies; get to school earlier and count the candies, or buy a bowl the same size. Finally, following repeated incorrect guesses I sought out past winners, "interviewing" them, trying to uncover their "strategies" for success. I was curious how they devised them and what their motivation was leading up to their guess. (With a little legwork, I eventually won).

Some 30 years later, I am still in the field - working towards solving complex strategic, research, and design challenges - albeit on a slightly grander scale. Throughout my career, both academic and professional, I've worn multiple hats - collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across industries, skillsets, cultures, and continents - from healthcare, finance, education, biopharma, operations, and technology.
While the work is always in flux, my passion for unraveling the human mind and building best-in-class products remains constant.

My Process
The strategies
It Starts with Empathy
The best way to truly understand the user experience is to become the user (or something close to it). My philosophy is grounded in empathizing with users by thinking, sensing, and feeling the user experience - as they would.
The Psychology of it All
A strong academic and practical foundation in psychology rounds out my practice by understanding how users think, feel, sense, behave, and interact with digital products and services. By applying grounded psychological principles, I formulate approaches that align with human cognition, perception, needs, wants, and emotions - eliciting better data, improving usability, design, and user satisfaction.
Environmental Impact
Understanding how an user's immediate environment impacts behavior and decision-making with a product or service elicits more contextual, insightful data. Subconsciously, our environment plays a tremendous role in shaping our behavior, decisions, interactions, and perception. We often become what surrounds us as a natural byproduct of simply existing within our routine environment(s).
We're Social Animals
Similar to environment, society is constantly bombarding users with data and information. Those within and outside of our social circles (e.g., friends, family, social acquaintances and social media) can significantly impact our behavior, choice, and motivation. My work always considers, and incorporates when appropriate, societal influencers - taking into consideration how such these variables may shape user behavior and decision making.

Show me a problem and I'll ask 100 questions
While Einstein may have coined the phrase, I adopt this thinking in my own work. Knowing when (and what) questions to ask is critical to my process. Establishing the right baseline that addresses both user and business needs and goals is foundational. Staying flexible within time constraints is another fundamental component of my UX practice.
